The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has stated that the union is ready to negotiate with government toward ending its two week old industrial action. This was disclosed by the President of the union Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, who was a guest on TVC News Breakfast show on Monday. He frowned at the attitude of the FG towards the demands of the lecturers.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, on Monday 9th March declared a two-week warning strike against non-payment of salaries of lecturers not enrolled in the Federal Government’s Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System.

  1. I criticized FG for this strike till i got full details behind the IPPS SYSTEM. Truth be said ASUU may have to reconsider their stand on this strike. Well, I feel they should immediately after this Covid 19. Students have long stayed at home and this energies the carry maybe turned into another thing.With this in view ASUU should start discussion on how to lift this strike. My mind tho.
